Energy consumption is parallel to the development and growth of countries. Energy consumption, which exists in almost every aspect of our daily lives, is one of the indispensable factors of modern life.

In parallel with industrialization activities, increasing population and rising living standards, the need for energy is increasing day by day in our country. Per capita energy consumption in Turkey is 1/5 of the average per capita consumption in OECD (Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development) countries. According to the data of the International Energy Agency, while energy intensity values in developed countries range between 0.09-0.19, this value is 0.38 in Turkey. This value, which does not show a decreasing trend and is well above the average, is an indication that great steps need to be taken in energy efficiency in our country.

The use of energy based on fossil fuels increases the importance of renewable energy sources due to the rapid depletion of the world's fossil fuel reserves, as well as significant negativities such as foreign dependence on fuel, high import costs and environmental problems.Renewable energy sources are of great importance as they are sustainable resources. In addition, the environmental impacts of renewable energy sources are less than fossil energy sources due to their green energy nature. The use of renewable energy sources, especially solar panels; sustainability will be the most important energy source of the 21st century.

For this purpose, a Solar Power Plant with a total installed capacity of 2.6 MWe was installed by our company in our mining license area located in Tefenni District of Burdur Province in order to meet the electricity needs of the mining operation.

The Global Solar Power Plant fully meets the definition of Green Energy, both because it is a renewable energy source, because it has been rehabilitated by installing a SPP on the stockpile area where the mine's tailings are stored, and because the company meets its own electricity needs.
